Note To Self (Signed Anna Alizeti Williams)

Blessings to you for taking the time out to read another one of my inspirational blog posts. We have made it to the month of June, so I’m focusing more on Self Care all month long. Some Queens may dedicate a day but I’m giving the entire month of June a try.

About a week ago, I was talking to my husband about how I don’t keep myself in mind when I’m taking care of important things. I should most certainly be #1. After some thought, we found that the last time I got my nails done was about 2 years ago for our wedding. The month was April of 2015. I couldn’t believe it. It is funny but sad at the same time. It’s been quite some time since I’ve just focused on myself. Spiritually, Mentally, Emotinally, and Physically. I am learning to put in time for myself so that all these cares are aligned. This is why I have decided to write a note to myself that you may use as your “self love/care guide”.

Take only what you need.

Anna “Alizeti” Williams, you must not forget how important you are to the universe. Your lack of attention to care for yourself will leave you in shambles.  You are useless on your journey if you are not at your best.

Your natural beauty is your most inspirational power. Love your tresses. From your skin to your smile all the way to your kinky hair. You are unique. You possess gifts that you could never have imagined. It will take a gift to unlock or reveal another.

Why are you so worried about what people think? They could never love you as hard as you can love yourself. Please yourself. Study yourself. Busy, Yourself!

You must learn to fuel mind. Read more than you normally have. Let those moments of television fade away as unimportant friends in your mind. You’ll gain more from your literary tools than that of a reality television show. Your mind can be fueled with positive energies from that of yourself.

What satisfies your mind? What soothes your mind? They too, will also help to fuel it. Your ancestors have left secrets for your mind to be protected by all costs. Keep it guarded and in  spirtual shape.

Remember who you are. These small journeys you have set forth on will only equip you for your greatest and most difficult journey ever.

You are loved. Love lives within you.  Love received means love will be given abundantly. If love lives inside you:

You will love your teeth and space between them.

You will love your high cheekbones that shift your eyes up and when you smile or laugh.

You will love your thighs that now touch after weight fluctuation from your two blessings.

You will love your breast. No matter the changes. They are your adornments that have helped to nourish your seeds and satisfy your king.

You will honor your yoni. Give her time to rest and be nurtured by your king when necessary. Treat her with respect as she will always be apart of you. Pamper your yoni. Why not?

You will embrace your growing curves that may be caressed by King. Though at times it may be hard to get into your fav pair of jeans. You backside is glorious.

You will love your life. Understand that many things you are not complacent about may be altered in your desire or need. If it can’t,  move along in good spirits.

You will care for you crystals. Take them wherever the soles of your feet may touch. From your Pink Opal to your Selenite, honey you are protected and guided through lights of fearlessness.

You will embrace your needs with open arms and set aside time to reassure yourself that you are capable of every goal you set. Even if odds are against you.

You will love your mothering powers. They are always evolving due to your seeds coming of age year after year. You are perfection. You were not meant to mother the way your mother did.

You will not feel like your finances. You are not your finances. Be rich in knowledge, love, and community. The finances will begin to fall in order. However, no reckless spending either. (A great Queen once said “Only give, when you know you will not be without.”)

You are Anna Alizeti Williams of the Sista Queen Tribe. You are a Goddess. There is no other like you. There will be similar beings but NONE LIKE you.

Embrace your sistrens! They are here to assist you as you will return the love through  righteous labors to assist them equally on their journeys.

I didn’t want to make the blog too long. A part 2 maybe necessary. Thank you so much for taking the time out to visit my space and read some inspiration. It is always greatly appreciated.

Peace and Love to all who read this message. Blessings upon you. May you love and care for yourSELF, always.

Petals and Sunlight,

Anna Alizeti Williams

Our Black Story: Queens Edition

This is our Black Story: Queens Edition, so I thought I would shed light on some of our Melanated Queens who we may not know of. I have put a small list together of a few names that were not familar to myslef. I may have heard of them but I was not knoweledgable of their contributions.

Willie B. Barrow was a religious leader and civil rights activist. Reverend Willie T. Barrow was born on December 7, 1924. Yes, she is a Sagittarius sister.

Barrow was raised in Burton, Texas, where as a student she led a demonstration of rural African American schoolchildren against a segregated school system. Tell me that isn’t black girl magic in the making.

In 1962, she worked with the Rev. Jesse Jackson to create Operation Breadbasket, an organization focused on meeting the needs of underserved black communities. Rev. Jackson would later found Operation P.U.S.H (People United to Serve Humanity) based on Operation Breadbasket. She replaced Jackson as executive director of Operation PUSH in 1984.

This Queen has also crusaded for issues such as AIDS in the black community, children’s welfare, and domestic violence.

Marian Wright Edelman studied at Spelman College, abroad on a Merrill scholarship, and she traveled to the Soviet Union with a Lisle fellowship. I haven’t had the chance to attend Spelman but a few of my sistrens have. Ayyyee. She also studied at Yale and graduated Law School. She held a job in New York working for the NAACP Legal and Defense Fund, and then in Mississippi for the same organization.

Marian Wright Edelman established the Children’s Defense Fund (CDF) in 1973 as a voice for poor, minority and handicapped children. She served as a public speaker on behalf of these children, and also as a lobbyist in Congress, as well as president and administrative head of the organization.

Myrlie Evers-Williams, original name Myrlie Louise Beasley (born March 17, 1933, Vicksburg, Mississippi, U.S.), African American activist and the wife of civil rights leader Medgar Evers, whose racially motivated murder in 1963 made him a national icon. In 1995–98 Evers-Williams was the first woman to head the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People

She published the memoir For Us, the Living (1967), earned a degree in sociology at Pomona College (1968), and made an unsuccessful bid for election to the U.S. Congress (1970).

She left the post three years later and founded the Medgar Evers Institute (later the Medgar and Myrlie Evers Institute) in Jackson.

Audre Lorde attended Hunter College and Columbia University and was a librarian for several years before publishing her first volume of poetry, First Cities, in 1968.

She was an African-American poet and essayist who gave voice to issues of race, gender and sexuality. Lorde’s love of poetry started at a young age, and she began writing as a teenager. I read about her on my journey for African American women who were poets and authors. I love her. She attended Hunter College.

Audre Lorde battled cancer for more than a decade and spent her last few years living in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Around this time, she took an African name, Gamba Adisa, meaning “she who makes her meaning clear. She described herself as A self-described “black feminist lesbian, mother, warrior, poet.”

#WhereDidMySummerGo

Can you believe it?

Summer is almost over. It’s like it flew by in an eye blink. I guess, with all the back to school sales on  uniforms and school supplies confirms that summer is comong to an end.

I hope your summer was very great to you. I would say mine was pretty cool.

Our 4th of July family trip was nice. As it is every year, spent with my mother, other siblings, and nieces.

My boutique EVERYPARTOFANNA BOUTIQUE has been doing very well for itself as an online store where I sell my art and handmade accessories for all Queens. I had the pleasure of doing a custom painting for a beautiful Queen as a gift to her mother.

One of most greatest summer moments who be how I fueled my energy into a peaceful protect called RISE UP WALK 4 CHANGE (A BLACK UNITY EVENT). This was walk I put togteher on 7/24/2016. We walked through the neighborhood of Collier City in Pompano Beach, Fl. Close family and friends were those in attendance. We marched on the streets and stood at the corner of busy intersections to  make our voice heard on police brutality and unifying the black community. It was one of the best feelings I could have ever felt. I was making a change with my kids and husband by side. No, this did not make the news or headlines but we did it for our community. My husband and I are not done with our community and county yet. There are so many more events to come in the future.

Well the kids are ready to return to school on August 22nd. My son Aj will be officially in the 1st grade. From EveryPartofAnna and family we wish all the students a blessed and productive school year.

Light It Up Blue for Autism

9d005a1d5e4efb34e5e34f9f2dc3c9db

Today is World Autism Day. (Just in case you didn’t know)  As you walk around today look for blue shirts, hats, and banners. Those people you may see are just like me spreading awareness and lighting the world up blue. Bes sure to post pics in blue or with your signs #LIBU on all your social media page. Please tag me. I wanted to focus today on spreading the awareness for  Autism by providing a little insight on a fact about it.

What is Autism?

Autism is a development disability that is referred to as ASD. It is important to understand that ASD has nothing to do with how an individual may look. This is a mental condition that makes communicating and forming relationships a little bit more difficult with others.

What are signs of Autism?

  • repeat actions over and over again
  • avoid eye contact and want to be alone
  • not point at objects to show interest (for example, not point at an airplane flying over)
  • not look at objects when another person points at them
  • have trouble expressing their needs using typical words or motions

Is Autism Common ?

I read that it is hard sometimes for many doctors to diagnose ASD. However, by studying a child’s behavior and developments answered are provided.

ASD occurs in all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups, but is about 4.5 times more common among boys than among girls.

  • Autistic Disorder)
  • Asperger Syndrome

Anna’s Inspired

I think its about time I pick up a few new talents. Well they aren’t talents yet but they will be. I say this because everything I put my mind to start, I finish it with a bang. I know that I have a mind full of creative ideas that I am super excited to bring to life.

There is this Black Artist Connect group I am apart of on Facebook. The group is so inspiring. Numerous of black artist post their creations some old and others new. Their processes are so beautiful and like supplements for the soul to the brain. Yesss, you get so inspired. The page is filled with artist of all kinds. It’s not just art by paint, sketches, or even digital work. Some of them are welders, photographers, musicians, and even writers. The group is everything, trust me.

A few of the artists I actually follow on Instagram. One in particular I just purchased a magnificent notebook from her, where she has her artwork drawn out on the front page. I am waiting for it to be shipped. I will post once I receive it. She is very talented. I never knew there were so many young black artists in the world.

So with all this being said. I am reopening my artistic doors that lead to my soul. I remember sketching clothing designs when I was in middle and high school. So I want to add artist under my belt. With practice all great things become perfect. I am SUPER excited.

Self Improvement/Growth

This month I am focusing on Evolution of Self

Self Improvement/Growth

Self-Improvement

I am still learning that to refine the things we love, we must polish ourselves. This means that we must improve who we are to be the best we can be at everything our hands touch. We are all goal getters and future trendsetters. We must always allow room for improvement, most importantly in ourselves.

Overcome Your  Fears

No one is perfect. Every individual has fears that they wish to conquer. Sometimes our fears hold us back from reaching our full potential. Tap into those fears. The number one fear that I have found that many can relate to is, fear of failure. So what you failed at something. Does this mean you give up? Of course  not. You look at  approach. What can you change about where you went wrong? If you were the outsider what would you have changed? When you aren’t afraid to fail you transform yourself into this empowered individual who looks at failure as opportunities for growth.

Don’t Procrastinate/Get Organized

I am extremely guilty of being a procrastinator. When I have assignment due for class. I would wait until the day before the assignment is due to actually start looking at what the requirements are. This is not good. Getting a jump start on life is never a bad thing. Organization helps with procrastination issues.  Trust me, from personal experience being organized has never steered me in the wrong direction. Using a planner, calendar on your phone, or even keeping a to-do list handy will help you get  things done. This also means less stress because you can look ahead and prepare accordingly.

Fix Your Flaws

Flaws can be in characteristics as well as appearances. I will start with what I have found to be some  of my flaws. I use to be very defensive. Defensiveness is when you take criticisms and correctives in a negative way. Being open-minded helps to realize that depending on who feedback is from is very constructive. Other may deal with being so eager to please people or those who have that “Entitlement” Attitude. Embracing your flaws means you research them and turn them into your best features.

Learn from those who inspire that you admire

Following positive and inspiring people can only help you to move forward in all aspects of your life. Make a list of people you admire and how they inspire you or even other people. Try having weekly conversations with these inspirational and motivational people. I am sure whatever questions you have about your journey to success and greatness, they can answer.

Evolution of SELF

Blessed February Everyone!

Yes, we have started a new month today in this beautiful year of 2016. I want to start off this month by focusing on the “Evolution of Self”. Are you setting goals for yourself this month? Have you planned to try new things and meet new people this month? Have you evolved lately? Why not? Evolve, you can do it. I’ll help you.

Evolution is best defined as:

  • the gradual development of something, especially from a simple to a more complex form.

I believe that many us have ideas about how we want to be better in our lives but are afraid to act out on them. What are you waiting for? Making personal changes starts within us. It begins as a personal journey through our souls and mind. Starting off simple, we can start by changing our reactions to negative people and negative energies.

Here is something I tried at work. Due to the amount of negative energy that floats around the office. I decided to not talk and mingle with some coworkers. When asked why I seem so quiet lately. I simply replied that I am being more observant and I don’t want to open doors for negativity. Its been a few weeks now and I must say my days are more positive and people keep their negative comments and “tea’s” to themselves.

I will focus this month on Evolution of Self. Each Monday for the entire month of February, I will post to help assist everyone in a positive evolution of SELF.
