The Power of Sistahood (Open Letter to My Lost Sistas)

My sista,

How dare you engage in this undignified competition to merely be one step higher than your sista? I’m finding it beyond belief that we are unable to exist peacefully and positively side by side. Maybe you misplaced the vision somewhere around the time you decided to trade in your teamwork makes the dream work mindset, for your new faux furs, ass shots and selfish ways.

My sista,

Let me be the Queen to remind you that WE can win together.

The Power of Sistahood is often under estimated. Do you know why?  Most times we fall short of the worlds expectations and honey those unrealistic standards are not our reality. Maybe reality tv is what they have in mind. That shit does not  reflect much of a sistahood nowadays. Remember when Big Mama would say “it’s the sign of the times.”

My sista,

It is time. Your sistas. Me. Your sista, have witnessed you degrade your self worth one time too many.   Our ancestors will rise from their graves in indignation of you having served up your values on platter to the wolves.

Just in case you are not as intellectual as you used to be, meaning, you have dumbed down your resume for them folks, see, them folks don’t give a shit about you, them folk got you cooning, sista you have been the real joke.

The moment when you choke off the fumes from that green grass they handed your ass, from the other side, which turned out to be blood on your hands, so filled with pride

My sista,

I know you may feel so high up, you could care less about your roots. But I won’t stop writing you letters and sending you our prayers.

To Come back, You can always come back

Your loving sista,

Anna Williams

Wrapping Up 2016 with Anna

It seems like forever since I last posted. I am still here inspiring the world through positive vibes and doing good deeds. A wise man once said:

Service to others is the rent you pay for

your room here on earth.

Muhammad Ali

A brief description of my year can be simplified as trial and error. Quitting what most people would consider a “damn good job” to venture out in search of happiness elsewhere. Allowed me to launch my own online business “EveryPartofAnna Boutique”  with the support of my fellow Queens it has done well. I also opened my home based art club Creative Connections KAC for the community youth ages 2-10.

2016 was a year of soul searching. I have been perfecting my poetic gifts to share with the world. I have been blessed to meet and befriend so many talented Queens & Kings this year. My husband and I have mastered the art of budgeting lol.

I am currently 2 weeks away from my 1 year Big Chop Anniversary. Yayyyyyyyyy!!! 1 year fully natural no heat. Its been a beautiful hair journey.

This is just a snippet of my year.Nonetheless,  I am very thankful for all the blessings and lessons received. Many souls I have decided to leave behind and very little I am willing to take forward with me in my upcoming year. When I think of 2017:

I envision BLACK LIBERATION, UNITY IN BLACK COMMUNITIES, SHARING OUR GUIDES TO OWNERSHIP WITH ONE ANOTHER, SELF LOVE & PRESERVATION.

My mission will always remain the same:

To inspire the world piece by peace. Positively.

Special thanks to my husband Avery for being my rock and #1 fan no matter how many goals I set for myself, you are there to keep my plan to reach them in order. My aunt Tesheda, who motivates and captivates me in ways she will never know. All of the friends and family who have supported any of my endeavors. You are greatly appreciated.

#WhereDidMySummerGo

Can you believe it?

Summer is almost over. It’s like it flew by in an eye blink. I guess, with all the back to school sales on  uniforms and school supplies confirms that summer is comong to an end.

I hope your summer was very great to you. I would say mine was pretty cool.

Our 4th of July family trip was nice. As it is every year, spent with my mother, other siblings, and nieces.

My boutique EVERYPARTOFANNA BOUTIQUE has been doing very well for itself as an online store where I sell my art and handmade accessories for all Queens. I had the pleasure of doing a custom painting for a beautiful Queen as a gift to her mother.

One of most greatest summer moments who be how I fueled my energy into a peaceful protect called RISE UP WALK 4 CHANGE (A BLACK UNITY EVENT). This was walk I put togteher on 7/24/2016. We walked through the neighborhood of Collier City in Pompano Beach, Fl. Close family and friends were those in attendance. We marched on the streets and stood at the corner of busy intersections to  make our voice heard on police brutality and unifying the black community. It was one of the best feelings I could have ever felt. I was making a change with my kids and husband by side. No, this did not make the news or headlines but we did it for our community. My husband and I are not done with our community and county yet. There are so many more events to come in the future.

Well the kids are ready to return to school on August 22nd. My son Aj will be officially in the 1st grade. From EveryPartofAnna and family we wish all the students a blessed and productive school year.

My Potty is A Monster by S. Deen (Anna’s Review)

I have found a great book for children to add to their summer reading list. The book is titled “My Potty is A Monster.” It is about a little girl named Pepper who takes a trip to her potty one night before bed. The story reveals how she conquers her fears to actually make it to the potty. I dont want to give all the details of the book away. I will leave it to you to find out how Pepper made it through the night.

This one book belongs to a series of books in the making. “The Adventures of Pepper”.

I initally bought this book for my daughter Ava. She is sort of newly potty trained and thought the book was “soooo cool”. Those are her words not mine. Ava now considers Pepper her friend. She understands that just because you are afraid does not mean you cant do something. Ava is patienly waiting for Bad Hair Day (Avaliable for PreOrder).

My son Anthony, who is 6 years old, was able to read this book to his sister perfectly. I was suprised because not all the words are what I would consider “EASY” for  a six year old to read.

S. Deen is the beautiful and talented Author of My Potty is a Monster and The Little Girl Who Could. She uses a childlike nature and mixes it with actual trials of a kid. Her books inpsire kids to reach for their dreams and to not be afraid. The messages are very positive. As a parent, I love when my kids are introduced to the world through books.

Thank you S. Deen. We are looking forward to your next great book.

Work Life Struggles…

Does anyone know what  “Work Life Struggles” are?

  • When your place of employment is on your list of top 3 things you hate.
  • You do your best to arrive to work on time but you still arrive late.
  • You hate going there but you have a life full of responsibilities so you have to endure.
  • You know your potential is for beyond the position you currently hold so you give 210% just because you have mastered that title.( & you don’t want anyone in your face saying you don’t do enough)
  • You hate your job but every morning you come in with a smile on your face just to get you through the day but you run out  as soon your shift is up.
  • Having to dull your shine because opportunity Is not there.
  •  Hating your job so much to the point you don’t want your lazy coworkers saying anything to you.
  • When you take your lunch breaks and don’t want to come back

Many of us have all experienced this in life from job to job. Personally, I am an artist. Creativity and an eagerness for more knowledge is my strength. Wherever I go in life I set  goals with time frames. I try to always meet the due date of each goal. I never plan to be just a worker at the bottom of the corporate web(Yeah it’s not a ladder anymore). Any position that I am, I master that and I get hungry for growth. Even when I hate a job I still love opportunities to grow. I would never work for a company that has no growth opportunities. If I feel like I am being kept still due to the lack of management wanting to train. I will get bored and move on through prayer and faith.

How to deal with Work Life Struggles:

  • Choosing the right prayer for each and everyday(know that this situation is temporary)
  • Having at least one great friend at work who helps you get through your days
  • Know you are potential and God will move you into your passion (You have to listen to him)
  • Don’t be complacent CHANGE is always possible
  • Be sure to always do your best. No matter how you feel about the job. If you hate it that much quit.  (Your customers and clients should not have to deal with your attitude because you hate your job lol)

Light It up BLUE with Anna

Light It Up Blue for Autism

9d005a1d5e4efb34e5e34f9f2dc3c9db

Today is World Autism Day. (Just in case you didn’t know)  As you walk around today look for blue shirts, hats, and banners. Those people you may see are just like me spreading awareness and lighting the world up blue. Bes sure to post pics in blue or with your signs #LIBU on all your social media page. Please tag me. I wanted to focus today on spreading the awareness for  Autism by providing a little insight on a fact about it.

What is Autism?

Autism is a development disability that is referred to as ASD. It is important to understand that ASD has nothing to do with how an individual may look. This is a mental condition that makes communicating and forming relationships a little bit more difficult with others.

What are signs of Autism?

  • repeat actions over and over again
  • avoid eye contact and want to be alone
  • not point at objects to show interest (for example, not point at an airplane flying over)
  • not look at objects when another person points at them
  • have trouble expressing their needs using typical words or motions

Is Autism Common ?

I read that it is hard sometimes for many doctors to diagnose ASD. However, by studying a child’s behavior and developments answered are provided.

ASD occurs in all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups, but is about 4.5 times more common among boys than among girls.

Autism Spectrum Disorders that are  sometimes called Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD):

  • PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Delay – Not Otherwise Specified).
  • Autism (sometimes referred to as Classic Autism, Early Infantile Autism, Childhood Autism, or
  • Autistic Disorder)
  • Asperger Syndrome
  • Rett Syndrome
  • Childhood Disintegrative Disorder

Its April Fool’s Day!!!

Its April Fool’s Day!!!

Can you believe we are already 4 months into the year. That’s really close to the halfway mark in 2016. I hope everyone has been sticking to their diets and knocking off those goals one by one on their lists. I am excited for this month. Why? April is National Poetry Month, if you haven’t heard. Poetry is one of my many talents and passions lol.

I am so excited about all the new things I have been working on. They are all positive and inspirational. My artwork has been coming along just great.  I have channeled my inner Basquiat. I am working on few papers and planning some events. Yes, I have been super busy lately but its all for the greater good.

Don’t forget today is the 1st of the month. So anything you may have fell short on last month or this year. It’s okay to start over today. I have found a few work out challenges that I am going to start as of today. One of them being
